Need a filler activity for your music class? The Song/Movie Mashup Music Composition Activity allows students to creatively combine well known songs and familiar movies. Students will work together to brainstorm, create, and perform!

This activity includes several well-known children’s song titles and several famous movie titles. Students will be placed in small groups. Each group will draw a song title and a movie title. Then, students will have 10-15 minutes to re-write the lyrics of the song title to tell the story of the movie title they drew. Groups will take turns performing for the class.

My students LOVE this activity and enjoy performing their creative lyrics for their classmates.
